It is resistant to sunlight, sun cracking, no discoloration, high elongation and acid and alkali resistance under sunlight. Titanium dioxide for rubber, mainly used in automobile tires and rubber shoes, rubber flooring, gloves, sports equipment, etc., generally in the form of anatase. However, for the production of automobile tires, a certain amount of rutile products are often added to enhance the resistance to ozone and ultraviolet rays.

Physical Properties 

1) Relative density 

Among the commonly used white pigments, titanium dioxide has the lowest relative density, and in the same quality white pigment, titanium dioxide has the largest surface area and the highest pigment volume. 

2) Melting point and boiling point 

Since the anatase type is converted to a rutile type at a high temperature, the melting point and boiling point of the anatase type titanium dioxide are practically absent. Only the rutile type titanium dioxide has a melting point and a boiling point, the rutile type titanium dioxide has a melting point of 1850 ° C, the air has a melting point of (1830 ± 15) ° C, and the oxygen-rich melting point is 1879 ° C. The melting point is related to the purity of the titanium dioxide. The rutile type titanium dioxide has a boiling point of (3200 ± 300) ° C, and titanium dioxide is slightly volatile at this high temperature. 

3) Dielectric constant

4) Conductivity 

Titanium dioxide has the properties of a semiconductor, its electrical conductivity increases rapidly with increasing temperature, and is also very sensitive to hypoxia. 5) Hardness 

According to the Mohs hardness, the rutile type titanium dioxide is 6 to 6.5, and the anatase type titanium dioxide is 5.5 to 6.0. 

5) Hygroscopicity

Although titanium dioxide is hydrophilic, its hygroscopicity is not too strong, and the rutile type is smaller than the anatase type. The hygroscopicity of titanium dioxide has a certain relationship with the surface area, large surface area, high hygroscopicity, and also related to surface treatment and properties.
